“You’ve Got To Be Carefully Taught”

I grew up and still love going to Broadway musicals. The words from many shows – The Sound of Music, Fiddler on the Roof, My Fair Lady, Pippin, Les Miserables, Into The Woods and now, Hamilton –  occupy a permanent residence in my brain. Some of my happiest childhood memories involve a crowded back car seat (me, my sister, brother and large dog) with my parents up front – all of us singing (aloud, probably not in tune).  A couple of weeks ago, someone sent me a link to a powerful piece by Texas Sportscaster Dale Hansen speaking on behalf of a trans teen athlete. I was so moved by this older white man from Texas speaking with such passion that I had to know more about him.  So, I looked him up and was blown away.  Below is one of my favorite clips which made me want to ask him to run for office.
