I arise in the morning torn between a desire to improve the world and a desire to enjoy the world.  This makes it hard to plan the day. E.B. White

This blog was born shortly after the Women’s March on January 21, 2017. I was at the sister march in Boston with over 150,000 others who came to sing, shout, speak, listen and learn. It was a powerful and peaceful day with moments of inspiration, outrage, humor and clarity.  We came with different stories yet we were one voice.

In the days that followed, I became overwhelmed by the tsunami of information coming at me from all directions and realized that I needed to find a way to filter the sound bytes, to find good information that would allow me to speak my truth to the powers that be and to see the beautiful despite the grim and frightening facts coming at me.

I sent an email (Dear Friends) to about 100 friends with some ideas, addresses and links to a couple of songs that filled me with joy as well as a sign that made me laugh out loud.  I was overwhelmed by the positive response and this blog is my attempt to continue the conversation in a more organized way that will be accessible to more people.

If you get one good idea or feel moved to tears or laughter by something in these pages then my job is done.  Here’s to all of us – in this journey together.debsig
